About Emma
Like many other artists, I enjoyed all things creative from a very early age. My sketchbooks, pencil crayons and watercolour paints were my prized possessions and were never shared lightly! As I grew, drawing or painting was never too far from my mind and my love of art stayed firmly with me throughout my school years.
However, it was whilst studying a BA Hons in Fine Art that I realised my passion for illustration. After being approached at my University and offered a commission for a BBC charity event, I began to look for work as a freelance illustrator to help fund my studies. I loved designing and creating to the briefs I was given, often finding the perfect sources of inspiration in the most everyday of objects and situations. After completing my degree, I knew what I wanted to do with the experience I had gained. I wanted to carry on doing what I loved, and it was from this point that I began to create my own collection and 'Emma Phillips Illustrations' began.
